STRESS MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP
"The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another." — William James
To help students and future educators manage everyday mental pressure and emotional challenges, our college organized a Stress Management Workshop. The session was led by an experienced resource person who gave us valuable insights into the nature of stress, its causes, and most importantly, how to manage it effectively.
The session began with a discussion on what stress is and how it can affect both our mind and body. Sir explained the different types of stress — acute stress, chronic stress, and episodic stress — and their unique impacts. We explored various real-life situations where stress builds up, especially among school and high school students. Academic pressure, family expectations, peer competition, and emotional struggles were identified as common stressors in students’ lives.
One of the most helpful parts of the workshop was learning about practical stress-relief techniques. We were introduced to methods such as deep breathing, journaling, physical exercise, mindfulness, time management, and positive self-talk. These simple yet effective tools reminded us that stress can be managed in healthy ways, and that mental well-being is just as important as physical health.
🌱 A Step Towards Mental Wellness
This workshop helped us understand that stress is natural, but how we handle it matters most. As future teachers, learning how to manage our own stress and helping students cope with theirs is a vital skill. The session left us with not only tools to manage stress but also the awareness to recognize it early and address it with calm and clarity.
