NATIONAL READING DAY

"A book is a quiet friend, a wise teacher, and a doorway to endless worlds—read, and you’ll never be alone." ๐Ÿ“š✨

National Reading Day is celebrated on June 19th in honour of P.N. Panicker, the father of the Library Movement in Kerala. This day encourages people of all ages to develop a love for reading and to understand the power of books in shaping minds and societies. It reminds us that reading is not just a habit—it's a path to knowledge, imagination, and lifelong learning.

"Reading opens doors to unseen worlds—it sparks imagination and helps us see life through countless eyes." ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŒ✨

Our college celebrated National Reading Day with great enthusiasm and creativity. The stage was beautifully decorated with the cover pages of famous books, creating a vibrant literary atmosphere. The official program included inspiring speeches by our chairman and teachers, who highlighted the importance of reading in shaping thoughts, building imagination, and expanding perspectives. The celebration served as a reminder that books are not just pages, but powerful tools that enlighten minds and connect generations.

“Through reading, we live a thousand lives, and travel beyond borders without leaving our seat.”

“The more you read, the more places you go—without ever packing a bag.”

“Reading teaches us to listen, to feel, and to see what’s never been seen before.”

“When you open a book, you open a world.”

As part of our Reading Day celebration, we contributed new books to our college library, enriching it with fresh stories, ideas, and knowledge. It was a small but meaningful step toward encouraging the habit of reading and making books more accessible to everyone. Through this, we celebrated not just the day, but the joy of sharing the gift of reading.

“Donating a book is not just giving pages—it's giving someone a new world to explore.” ๐Ÿ“š✨

The Reading Day celebration concluded with fun and interactive literary games that brought the joy of reading to life. Activities included reading competitions, book-based quizzes, and a “guess the literary work” game, which encouraged students to engage with literature in creative ways. These games added excitement to the day while reinforcing the importance of reading and literary knowledge in an enjoyable format.

As the celebrations came to an end, what remained was the quiet joy of stories discovered, knowledge shared, and minds inspired. Reading is not just an activity—it’s a lifelong companion that nurtures curiosity and shapes who we become. Let us carry forward the spirit of Reading Day by turning every page with purpose and passion.

“A book in your hand is a bridge to a better mind, a kinder heart, and a brighter world.” ๐Ÿ“š✨
