Weekly reflection - 2- Internship phase 1

The second week of my internship was a blend of celebrations, teaching, observations, and new learnings. Since the school had holidays in between, we had regular classes only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with an additional session on Saturday.

On Monday (21 July), the school celebrated Moon Day, as the actual date (20 July) was a holiday. The campus was filled with creativity and excitement—students came dressed as astronauts, displayed models of rockets, the solar system, and other space-related exhibits. It was inspiring to see how well they conveyed their ideas about space and the universe.

A special speech and quiz were also part of the celebrations.

That day, my option teacher observed my class, and I also handled a few substitution hours.

On Wednesday (23 July), I took my lesson using charts to make the content more engaging. It was a good experience, and my teacher appreciated my blackboard work while also reminding me to improve my classroom management. The feedback was valuable for my growth as a teacher.

On Friday (25 July), I continued my lesson in the first hour and used some of my substitution periods to provide notes to the students. I also encouraged them to read directly from the textbook so that I could understand their reading ability and comprehension levels.

Finally, on Saturday (26 July), the school functioned till 2:30 p.m. I continued with my lesson, and this time, I could see a better response from the students. Their interaction and enthusiasm gave me confidence and joy as a teacher.

Overall, Week 2 was a wonderful experience where I not only celebrated learning moments with students but also received constructive feedback, improved my teaching strategies, and built a stronger connection with my class.
