Union inauguration 


H.K.M. College of Education, Umayanalloor, proudly organized the Union Inauguration and Arts Club Inauguration on 14th March 2025 at 9:30 AM in the College General Hall. The programme marked the formal beginning of student union activities and the arts club for the academic year. The event was organized with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere within the campus.






The Union Inauguration was graced by Ms. Honey Benjamin, Honorable Mayor of Kollam, who inaugurated the function and addressed the gathering. Her presence added significance to the programme, and her words inspired students to take responsibility, show leadership, and actively contribute to academic and social growth. The session highlighted the importance of student participation in democratic and institutional activities.

The Arts Club Inauguration was inaugurated by Mr. Satheesh Vettikkavala, a renowned mimicry artist and serial actor. His presence energized the audience and brought artistic inspiration to the occasion. The programme reflected the college’s commitment to nurturing creativity, cultural expression, and talent among students. Overall, the inauguration ceremony was memorable, motivating, and set a positive tone for the academic and cultural activities of the year

Weekly Reflection 7 ( Internship) phase 1

  Weekly Reflection – Week 7 of My School Internship Week 7 of my internship was filled with active teaching, observations, co-curricular engagements, and meaningful learning experiences. Each day offered opportunities to improve my teaching skills and develop a deeper understanding of classroom dynamics. Day 31 – 15 September 2025 I reached the school by 9:00 a.m. and began my first period in Class IX A, where I continued and concluded the chapter “The Toilet.” The lesson focused on enhancing students’ comprehension and vocabulary skills. Using the textbook and flashcards as my teaching–learning resources, I guided students through reading activities, questioning, and a group task. Their engagement and improved confidence in using new vocabulary made the lesson truly fulfilling. I was glad to see how students related events from the story to their personal experiences.  ANNUAL SPORTS DAY   HKM College of Education, Umayanalloor successfully conducted the Akhara Sports Meet 2026 on 7 January 2026 at the college ground with great enthusiasm and participation. The event showcased the true spirit of sportsmanship through a wide range of track and field competitions including 100m and 400m running, shot put, javelin throw, discus throw, long jump, walking, and a mixed relay, with events held for both men and women. Students actively participated and demonstrated remarkable energy, discipline, and teamwork throughout the day. Akhara 2026 stood as a memorable occasion that strengthened unity, promoted physical fitness, and celebrated athletic excellence within the campus.
