School Induction Programme

Image
School Induction Programme  The School Induction Programme is an essential component of the B.Ed. curriculum that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical teaching experience. It provides student-teachers with an opportunity to observe real classroom situations, understand school functioning, and familiarize themselves with teaching methodologies, classroom management, and the roles and responsibilities of teachers. Through direct interaction with teachers, non-teaching staff, and students, the programme helps aspiring teachers develop professional skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the school environment. Day 1 (11/11/2024 – Monday). The first day of the induction programme began with our arrival at the school around 9:00 a.m. We assembled near the gate and received instructions regarding school discipline and procedures. We met the Deputy HM, Rajeesh Sir, who handed over the attendance register and gave guidelines to be followed on campus....

MICRO TEACHING - SKILL OF CLOSURE

Micro teaching is a teacher training technique that provides student-teachers with an opportunity to practice and refine their teaching skills in a controlled environment. It focuses on developing specific teaching competencies such as introducing a lesson, questioning, reinforcement, and classroom management. This process helps build confidence, improve communication, and enhance overall teaching performance before entering a real classroom setting. As part of my micro-teaching session, I practiced the skill of closure on 11 November 2024, based on the chapter “Rosa Parks Sat Still.” The focus of the session was to effectively summarize the key points of the lesson and reinforce students’ understanding of Rosa Parks’ courage and determination. Through this activity, I learned how to end a lesson meaningfully by connecting the ...
