DIGITAL TEXT

Image
A digital text is any reading material that is created, stored, and shared in electronic form. Unlike printed texts, digital texts can include not only words but also images, audio, video, hyperlinks, and interactive elements. They make learning more engaging by combining visuals and activities with the main content. In classrooms, digital texts are useful because they can be updated easily, accessed anytime, and often allow students to interact with the material through tasks like quizzes, thought bubbles, and drag-and-drop activities. INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day Celebration – 15 August 2025 Independence Day is always a proud occasion for every Indian, as it reminds us of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters and the importance of cherishing the hard-earned freedom we enjoy today. The day not only instills patriotism but also brings together the entire school community in a spirit of unity and celebration. This year, I had the opportunity to spend Independence Day at my internship school. I reached the school by 8:30 a.m., just in time for the flag hoisting ceremony. The tricolor rising against the morning sky, accompanied by the national anthem sung by students, created a truly moving moment. Soon after, a variety of programs began—students came dressed as famous personalities from the Indian freedom struggle, which brought history to life in front of us. It was inspiring to see their dedication and confidence in representing such great figures. The winners of the Independence Day Quiz, which had been conducte...

Weekly reflection 5. Internship phase 2

Week 5 of My Internship (11 – 15 August 2025) The fifth week of my internship was shorter in terms of teaching hours, as I only had three working days in the classroom—Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. During these days, I mainly focused on grammar lessons. I introduced the students to concepts such as active and passive voice and phrasal verbs, along with other grammar portions. To make these topics clearer, I used charts and other teaching-learning materials (TLMs), which helped the students understand abstract concepts more easily. I also gave them plenty of practice questions, and it was satisfying to see them attempt the exercises with interest. This reminded me of how important it is to pair explanation with practice, as students grasp grammar better when they can apply it immediately. On Thursday (14 August), the school held its student elections. Since much of the day was dedicated to election activities, we had relatively free time as teacher trainees. However, I made use ...

Weekly reflection - 4. Internship phase 1

Week 4 of My Internship (4 – 8 August 2025) The fourth week of my internship continued with the rhythm of morning prayers followed by my first-hour classes. On Monday (4 August), I resumed the chapter I had been teaching earlier and was delighted to notice some improvement in students’ responses. A few of them even asked doubts, which gave me happiness as it showed their growing curiosity and confidence. The school also conducted fun games and competitions during the week, and I enjoyed watching the students participate actively. These moments reminded me that school is not just about academics but also about building joy, teamwork, and healthy competition. On Tuesday (5 August), I once again had my class in the first period, where I managed to complete a good portion of the chapter. This gave me a sense of satisfaction, as progress in lessons allows both teacher and students to stay motivated. Wednesday (6 August) was significant as the school observed Hiroshima Day. The assembl...

Weekly reflection - 3 Internship phase 1.

Week 3 of My Internship (28 July – 1 August 2025) The third week of my internship began on Monday (28 July) with a beautiful prayer sung by the students. I had the first hour, during which I introduced a new chapter—a poem. Later, a quiz on A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was conducted, and I was glad to see the students participate with so much enthusiasm. Watching them actively engage reminded me how co-curricular activities, when linked with learning, can inspire students to think beyond the textbook. On Tuesday (29 July), I continued my teaching in the first period and handled several substitution classes. I used the time to provide notes and clarify doubts, which helped me understand their learning pace better. Managing both regular and extra hours made me realize how flexibility and preparedness are crucial qualities for a teacher. Wednesday (30 July) was full of energy. After my first-hour class, the school organized a quiz on Independence Day. Since it was conducted in advance, the sc...
